So I've had a streak of terrible luck for the past few days. Today I guess it culminated in my car blowing a head gasket and me not being able to get anywhere for a while. I have a ten page paper due tomorrow that I haven't even started...and I'm gonna go to sleep and see if I can get all of this out of my head.
Good new for Dylan, though. Two job interviews and a raffle win for an iPod and a gift certificate. It's very sweet of him to give the iPod to me...even before all this terrible luck began.

Update
Alright, so I just started reading Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahnuik, who wrote Fight Club. That's right...there was a book. It seems good but I haven't had the chance to focus on it yet with 5 semester projects and nearly 50 pages of my own facts to write and two presentations to give. Give me a little time. If you want to know how Fight Club was, though, I think I'm going to do a review soon. I'm still feeling out what I really want to make this blog about.

First Post...BOOK REVIEW!!!
So, I finished Atonement today. Yeah, I have to admit that I saw the movie before I even knew the book existed, but it really helps the imagery if you have people to picture.
Anyway, the book itself was AMAZING! The storytelling was so vivid and beautiful. I haven't felt so sad over a book since I read The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. I wasn't even that sad over the main tragedy but I wrapped myself up in the few pages about Luc and his delirious love for Briony. Just a few pages, the end of which nearly caused me to weep at the front desk in front of customers.
I found the book poetic and honest in its expression. I won't spoil it for those who haven't read it but it is realistic and poignant. The book strikes up both sympathy and empathy from the reader, depending on life experience.
I would truly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good wartime love story, unshared knowledge of the truth, and even nursing. Five out of five from me, and I think you'll agree with me that this book is worth a read.
